Unhappy IE7 Closing by itself

I have a really weird issue. IE7 will just close on it's own. It's almost like after a period of inactivity, it will just dissappear. No errors in event viewer etc. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks for the replies but I'm actually looking for someone with the same issue. I've been there and done that and only post here if I've already tried everything to no avail.

I had this same issue with the antifraud toolbar from PC Cillin 2006. The antifraud toolbar from PC Cillin 2006 is not compatible with IE7 at all.

Hmmm. I'm using Avast so I wonder if that's got something to do with it. Just an FYI, the x64 IE7 never shuts down at all....just the 32 bit version. (I'm running XP x64 btw).

Funny, the version I have at work that does not crash is:

90625-600-2127835-51510

The one machine that does crash is version:

90625-600-2127835-51478

Can others check to see what version they are running?

BTW...both are running on XP x64.

I'm running XP 32-bit...

Version: 7.0.5730.11

no shutdown or crashing issues at all for me...only the occasional website that does not work properly...

Mine is a Ver 7.0.5730.11, PID 84876-600-0011903-00111. I'm experiencing this ie7 colsing problem recently. I did, recently, update the java JRE to 'Version 6 Update 2'. Could it be the 'java' update that's creating the problem?
