Partition Magic 8.01

PM wont recognize my HD. I get error #117 I have xp pro sp2 installed on an ASUS G1s laptop. Obviously the HD is sata which might be causing the prob with the older version of PM. Is there an update available or is the program just too old?

Thanks

Re: Partition Magic 8.01

I have PM8 and it recognizes all my SATA HDDs on the Intel ICH8R. Maybe it doesn't work with the controller in that laptop.

Re: Partition Magic 8.01

Powerquest was bought out by Symantec a few years ago. They don't support PM anymore and 8.01 was the last update.

I still do use PM on all of my machines with Sata drives and don't have any problems with it recognizing them.

Re: Partition Magic 8.01

PM used to be a realy good HD imaging program. It seems they whent
down hill from a version or two before Symantec bought them out.
Come to think of it, Norton used to be prety decent before Symantec
bought him out.

Sorry for the ramble, don't care too much for Symantec.
