| Software that writes what you speak? Is anyone familiar with the typing programs like naturally speaking dragon? I have just been diagnosed with severe carpal tunnel in BOTH wrists and have to wear splints and live off of vicodin and naprosyn, cortozone shots did not help. I ask because I am in college and have tons of writing to do and am looking for an easier way. Is it cheap to buy because I am pretty broke at the moment?

| Hi Slovak, sounds pretty bad. I think that windows has a speech recognition feature that is sometimes installed and is in control panel/speech. I haven’t used it so you would have to read up on it if you have it. I don’t use speech recognition software but it appears that the Dragon trademark is out front in technology and price. I saw something you might be interested in for $29.95 at this site> http://www.digitalriver.com/dr/v2/ec...CACHE_ID=79391 < There’s always ebay but you need to watch out that you aren’t buying someone else's problem child or that it's going for not much less than new. > http://search.ebay.com/speech-recogn...QsosortorderZ1 < I would stick with the latest technology if possible. I probably haven’t told you anything that you already haven’t found out but I hope it helps. I hope you are able to see a way around your new challenge. Best wishes. Here is a site that has some good info and links. There are some relative usenet links there too. > http://www.speechstudio.com/commercial/speech.htm < |
