SaveIt! 2.1 (FREE)

SaveIt! 2.1 (FREE)

SaveIt! allows you to password protect any program or document. You can also restrict access based on the windows user account and disable password protection temporarily. When a user attempts to open a password protected application or document, he is automatically prompted for the password (protected files are marked with a special icon in Windows Explorer). SaveIt! is also available from the Windows Explorer SendTo menu, allowing you to quickly protect a file with just a few clicks.

Active Desktop Calendar

I am currently using this and find it to be a great addition

Active Desktop Calendar
Quote:
Description

This fully customizable calendar features notes, tasks, alarms, and displays its data on your desktop through integration with existing wallpaper. You can organize your data in layers and share them with other people on a local area network.

There are options for changing calendar icons, fonts and colors, marking weekdays of choice and marking dates with notes and/or alarms. You can have a text only version of the calendar and choose between displaying one, two or three months on the desktop.

Recurrence patterns are available for both notes and alarms. An alarm can be stand alone or attached to a note. If interactive desktop option is enabled, the program accepts direct clicks on dates, notes and tasks displayed on the desktop.

You can set each note to normal, private or invisible desktop view. Private notes are displayed as generic text reminder and invisible notes are not displayed at all. Printing calendar data is easy and includes an option to choose date range for printing notes.

Special desktop pictures option allows you to add some of your pictures to existing desktop background. Comma separated values .CSV format is supported for data export and import. Finally, Active Desktop Calendar comes with its own screensaver that displays desktop wallpaper with real time clock.

OK, I know this is a little off topic but what's the advantage of using this over logging on as administrator and deleting the index.dadt file out of your normal user profile? Is there another index.dat file besides this one?

I'm not sure if I got the link from this thread, if I did thank you soooo much...
Anyone want a program that installs ALL the current XP patches and updates since sp1 all at once?
It also installs (if you want) ie spell, tweak, and a bunch of other utilities...this thing rocks!!
XP Auto Patch

I turned my old P3 into an alarm clock with freeware WakeUp Alarm Clock. The P3 is quiet so it doesn't bother my sleep. And it wakes me every morning to whatever mp3 I've set it to play. And if I wake up, I can see the full monitor display from across the room to see how many more z's I can catch. Can't live without it. Not cool, but indispensible to me...
