| Well, firstly I must say 'thanx' to the boys for putting me onto PowerArchiver - easily the best all-in-one utility of its type I've used - excellent! Now - my picks for cool utils: > PopUpCop www.popupcop.com - pop-up killer. No, pop-up terminator. Sensational. I'm up to about 2500 stopped annoyances with only about 6 getting thru in all that time. It sits quietly in your IE Toolbar, and has many variables/configurations to really tweak your browsing experience. Mandatory part of my PC! > Alcohol 120% www.alcoholsoftware.com - very comprehensive and accurate CD-burning proggy - especially with protected discs - possibly even better than CloneCD ... does depend on the burner you have - but if you're a recent Lite-On owner (or any '2 sheep' burner) then this program may be what you need for backing-up your protected discs. This or BlindWrite.

| Adhearo Transit I always hated it to install and use PGP for encyption for emails. I also hardly needed to use encryption for this purpose. However once in a while you want to send confidential documents/files (draft contracts etc.) by email. Without using PGP I was unable to encrypt files/documents for emailing. I now found a nice little proggy! It's called Adhearo Transit ( a TERRIBLE name, but alah). The beauty of this program: it creates a self-extracting encrypted file with the .ex_ extension (so NOT .exe). The only thing is you've got to make a note or remember the passphrase you have used to to encrypt the file/document. You send off your email and subsequently call the recipient by phone and inform him which passphrase to use to decrypt/self-extract the file. The recipient does not need to have Adhearo Transit installed on his PC! The encrypte file is automatically deleted from the system after being decrypted/extracted. That's what is meant with Keep it Simple and Stupid. Here is the link: http://www.adhaeroutilities.com/transit.htm Highly recommended! |
