Newegg shipping to Canada!

Quote:
Newegg has announced plans to expand their online store to Canada, on October 10, 2005, using the domain http://www.newegg.ca/. This was confirmed by a post made by Newegg support staff. There is an ongoing discussion about this release on many online forums as well.

Sweet, some competition for NCIX on this side of the border. Customers can only win from this.

Thumbs up Ohhhh, I'm getting a boner!

Damn! That is so cool!

It's about time! I've been so jealous of my American buds here having such a great place like Newegg to shop at! I go there all the time and see some amazing prices, even after conversion to CAD, and have been waiting forever it seems for them to either start shipping to Canada or opening a branch up here.

Awesome!

We shall see ...

TigerDirect is the only US site I order from because I don't get hit with brokerage charges from UPS with them.

If Newegg can do this it will be great.
If not ... stay away.

Newegg is still negotiating with UPS about brokerage charges. I guess that is the reason the .ca site is still not live this morning although the planned date was yesterday. Hopefully the official launch will be soon!

There will be GST and PST (if applicable) no matter what, it is the extra brokerage fee that they are negotiating. Hopefully they can get it to 0, or <$5 at least.

Thats cool for you guys. I think I would be hurting without having Newegg around. As far as UPS goes I really don't like them that much. I had to RMA my memory yesterday and it weighed less then a pound probably and it was $7 to ship it from Oregon to California. If I would have done Postal Service it would have been like $2-3 or so. Stupid Holiday yesterday....

Just thinking out loud, this may have been one of the motivations for Newegg to add UPS as a shipping option recently. I have always preferred FedEx and even their cheapest service seems better than one of the premium UPS ones. Once the Canadian site goes live, start badgering them to allow using FedEx as a shipping option. It should cost no more and provide better service.

PS: I do not work for FedEx or UPS.

Cogar, I don't think FedEx will deliver to Can. We only use UPS at my work. I could be wrong of course
