Dell 5160 - Fried BIOS?

To avoid a long, long story - I was having some Fan problems; my Dell 5160 fan wouldn't turn on. Eventually I flashed the BIOS (a couple of times), and the computer crashed during one of the flashes.

What do I do now?

The computer turns on, but only goes about halfway through the BIOS bootup, and then stops.

Are you able to access the bios by pressing F2 repeatedly as the thing boots?

Haven't tried it. If I can, does that mean the BIOS is OK?

It doesn't look too good....a crash during a bios update can pretty much render the Mobo useless....Is it still under warrenty?

Nope. Is the BIOS removable from the Motherboard on most/this laptop?

You will have to purcahse a new motherboard from Dell if you want it to run again. The BIOS chip on the motherboard is not removable.

Most notebooks have it soldiered onto the motherboard to save space. Putting it in a socket takes more room and makes it stick up higher.
