Missing memory

I got a GateWay laptop and the advertised memory is 1gig..but whn i look at my system info it tell me i only got 896...thats 128mbs missin, why is this?

Your onboard graphics card is using the 128mb. Onboard graphics share system memory to cut cost. you mite be able to go into the bios and set a limit on how much memory it can use.

Nope not all of them, higher end models have graphics cards with its own memory.
