Needed: Idiot proof remote desktop setup

so later today I'm helping my cousin buy a laptop so he can connect to his work computer from home or his camp or wherever he wants anyways he really knows nothing about computers and I would like to get him something that won't screw him up and will be pretty easy to setup and maintain

since it'll be a new laptop it will most likely have vista and the computers it will be connecting to are windows xp sp2

thanks for any info

1. Find the IP of the Computer you want to access ( www.showmyip.com )
2. Click Start -> Run -> mstsc.exe
3. Enter the IP address
4. Click Connect.

5. (Optional) If you go to C:\Windows\System32\ you can find the mstsc.exe and create a shortcut to your desktop. It will remember the last IP you accessed, so if his system has a static IP, end of story.

I was thinking about that but the monthly fee is something I'll have to talk to him about

I was reading all about Radmin 3.0 and it seems to do everything we need for 1 price

has anyone used it before and has experience?

Is there some reason you 2 don't want to use the Windows RDP?
