Pentium M 1.7Ghz vs Pentium IV 3.0Ghz for laptop?

Stores don't sell much of Mobile Pentium IV 3.0+Ghz

my friends have couple of Pentium M 1.7Ghz & Pentium IV 3.0 laptop.
I wonder which is faster?

Intel Penium M 1.7Ghz (2MB cache & 1GB RAM)

or

Mobile Intel Pentium IV 3.0Ghz (1MB cache & 512MB RAM)

I want to use it for playing the music for DJ with speaker systems.

Well it depends on what you do. I would suggest actually a small form factor PC. All of the laptops that I have owned have had sucky sound. There is a lot of static in all of the sound chips.

The P-M laptop is a better one

Longer battery life and MUCH more memory, not to mention that P-m's are a much better designed chip than the P4's

Definately Pentium-m

yeah i know all sound onboard is very horrible. thats why i have cardbus sound card from Echo Indigo which produce best sound to hookup into the PA sound system with mp3. The DJ use this kind of card too for the clubbing. SoundBlaster card is not good.

I played karaoke dvd with windvd & windows media player, both software produce bad sounds because of fading. but the movies' sound are great. The Media Player Classic sound is much better than windvd, powerdvd & windows media player.

Tomorrow, I'll test out between Pentium M & 4 with PA sound system
