Replace a Turion ML-30 with a Turion MT-40???

Both are socket 754 and designed for "thin and light" laptops....

The ML-30 draws a max of 32 Watt

The MT-40 draws a max of 25 Watt

The MT-40 is a MUCH more powerful processor and draws a lot less power......

I'm thinking it is a win-win to swap out the CPU----more processing power, less battery consumption

I can get one pretty cheap....

But will it work in an HP L2000 "Lance Armstrong Livestrong Special"????

Anybody know if an ML can be swapped for an MT ????

Check this thread out: Linky

And this one: Linky - Involves a Compaq V2000Z, which I believe is the same (or at least, very close) laptop as your L2000.

That 2nd thread is right on the money------the L2000 is an exact duplicate of the V2000...

One lists the HP Brand-----the other the Compaq brand.

This seems totally doable------I'm going to check out that service manual....

Thanks so much for the link!!!!

John
