Toshiba Satellite M30-604 good choice?

I am trying to determine the right notebook for a friend. He wants to use it for business and personal use, since he is travelling a lot. That means it should work well with office applications, internet, email etc. Personally he will use it to store and play mp3’s and he definately wants a DVD-burner in it.

In his old notebook he used Infrared to make an internetconnection through his mobile phone. I’m not familiar with that, but I’ve noticed that only Toshiba has this option on many models. Is there another way of connecting if a notebook doesn’t have this option?
Further I feel I should get a Centrino or at least a M-processor, for good battery life.

So far I’ve come up with the Toshiba Satellite M30-604. What do you think, or do you have any other suggestions?

The M30 doesn't have the option for a DVD burner. If he is planning on dropping between $1,500-2,000 I would go with the Dell Inspiron 9100. It's a step below the XPS and that is considered to be one of the best notebooks to date. Although, it is using a P4 chip, so I take that back. You may want to look at Dell and Toshiba's Pentium M models (they are better than the Centrino) but I think you may have to do some customizations.
