| When can we expect to see Notebooks with > 4 GB RAM for 64bit OS? When can we expect to see Notebooks which will accept more than 4 GB RAM for 64bit Operating Systems? I'd like to know as I am keen to start experimenting with Virtualization (XenServer) and allocate RAM to each Virtual Machine as required. Anyone knows of a Notebook which already accepts >4 GB of RAM? Preferably one which will accept e.g. max 8 or 16 GB, instead of the usual max 4GB. |

When there is a market for denser notebook modules, which three probably wont' be until 64bit computing catches on in the notebook market. Does Xen not allow you to overcommit memory like VMWare does? I know in VMWare you can allocate say 1GB, but the guest will only take up as much as is needed. |

| Re: When can we expect to see Notebooks with > 4 GB RAM for 64bit OS? You want it, you got it. PC MicroWorks Corporation. Toll Free: 1-888-59-MICRO 8192MB Ultra Speed DDR3 1333MHz Extreme Performance Memory I do not believe they are shipping yet. The sad thing is this laptop is the next generation of mine, and even with DDR3 they got the cost comparatively spec'd to be less than mine ; ;
