I listen to http://www.techwebsound.com/index.html. Great sounds from the sixties, not just classics but many obscurities.

I tried Winamp's shoutcast...didn't do it for me. Maybe it was the selection.

I use Yahoo Messenger as my IM program (for the little time I actually IM), but their latest version integrated launchcast into it...which I've really learned to love. They have some stations that are free (agreed its limited), but what I like is that you can only pick stations by "music genre", but they have some stations based on moods too (such as the rainy day station).

On top of that, if you pay for it (which is next to nothing....$35 for the year or something like that...so like $3/mo or less), you can access ALL of the stations, additionally you can start creating your own station which has been awesome.

Your personal station allows you to rate music genres and artists and songs all along the way so it "learns" your musical tastes. Then based on your tastes it will start to feed you new music that it thinks you may like. I've come across tons of new artists I hadn't known about but that I LOVE in the last few months. It has got to know me well enough that 90% of the music it throws in for me to try, ends up being something I really love.

Here is a thread I started about it once.
Anybody use LaunchCast?

P.S. I'm not cutting Winamp down...I love WinAmp. It's still my MP3 player of choice.

GamingFM - http://www.gamingfm.com

All Gaming Music, All the Time.

Live requests and playlist as well. You'll hear old nostalgic tracks from console, arcade, and computer classics as well as lots of stuff you have probably never heard of. Lots of japanese releases, too.

Offers a 128K and 24k stream in .pls format. I listen to it in Media Player classic at home and work.

Is that Ron as in Ron Diaz?

He is/was (not sure if he's still here or not) local. He started with another guy named Ron (forget last name) who owned a comedy club and they had a morning show called " Ron&Ron ".

They tried to take it national and it bombed quick and they were no more. Then about 5 years or so ago (guessing) Ron Diaz came back and was morning show host of the local Classic Rock station (Thunder).

Anyway....if its the same....I can't stand Ron Diaz...I think he's an @rse! But I liked the sidekicks he had, like Fez and Billy the Phone Freak.

It is Ron. Fez has become his partner. Their show is fantastic. Completely stupid but hilarious.

I don't listen to actual radio stations but I listen to yahoo launch. I mostly use it for the music videos though.

Back to the topic.

I listen to Internet Radio on Real Player version 8. It's why I keep version 8. It's free. If you install a later version then they want money for what I can get for free with version 8.

I listen to stations all over the world. BBC, the University station from Guatalajara, and a bunch more in addition to the US stations.

anyone else has experience with XM, Sirius radio? My dad has it in he's new car, but haven't used it much. Are there plenty to station to choose from? Does the selection ever get old?

Oh ya, for Winamp, is there any way to make a list of my favorite radio station?

So I don't have to goto the website all the time to get the link (like the freaking awesome site BJB gave me today, thanks big time)?

One of these days I'll have to look into other sources of Internet Radio.

I know Netscape does Internet Radio. And a few others.
