Does anyone know anything about Laser Printers? Okay I got the Samsung ML-2010 Laser Printer. A few questions. Will leaving it on waste the toner/cartridge life? (the ML-2010 is a both in one combo) Before it prints it sounds like it heats up twice, is that normal? Just asking cause my friend had a small laser print in high school around 1998 that printed instantly (that why I got a laser cause I was jealous) and I didn't hear any heat up what so ever. Also there is quite some white electronic nosie while it is on, but it does away completely after being on 15 minutes. What is with that? Also anything else I should know about laser prints since this is my first laser? Thanks

I believe the use of toner is unaffected until the printer actually prints something. I think you could leave it on 24/7 without problem. The only issue is that laser printers draw a tremendous amount of electricity. Of course, this is not an issue if it goes into sleep mode, but it is something with which you should be aware. Regarding the noises and other behavior, that varies depending on the printer. I do believe it is normal for the printer to require perhaps 15 seconds or so to warm up after being turned on or coming out of sleep mode.

True, I noticed after it warmed up, charges like twice, when I start to print a new project it comes right out under 8 seconds
