Helo me if you can monitor issue

Hello guys. Well my monitor is giving me problems. I do not get a long beep during post. The screen is just blank with the solid orange light on the monitor. So, I purchased a new gpu. When I installed it same thing happend. Then for some odd reason it worked later on. After I reset computer it does the same thing and the monitor is blank again. The gpu i am using is pci btw. So the agp is not being used and there is no onboard graphics. Anyways, I removed the pci graphics card and reinstalled it and still nothing. I also tried removing the computer memory. Reinstalled it and nothing happened still the same thing and no beeping. I have two hard drives on there and I do not thing the hard drive is causing the problem. Yet when it did work I used tohear some clicking which i believe was coming from the older hard drive but that has the o/s, so I did nto remove it. I am wondering maybe I should try to connect the newer hd and Install a fresh copy of windows xp pro on it but i got files on that that I need. But, anyone has any input on what would be something I am not doing? Sorry about the long post lol. All input is greatly appreciated.

I doubt it's the OS. Try booting from a floppy or CD - do you have video?

What about safe mode?

You may have power supply problem. A motherboard problem. A bios battery problem.

You might want to consider pulling everything out except HD, ram, video card. Try the t/on boot, t/off. several times to see what happens.
