| Club, If I were you I would go with two 20'' or two 22'' monitors for less than one 30'' monitor. you can pick up Dell's 20'' for around $220 each plus tax and the 22'' for around $290 each plus tax. I would look at techbargains.com to see the deals. (search Dell or monitor) I have two 20'' running on my rig each at native 1600 x 1050 resolution and it looks beautifull on games and lots of new games like Supreme Commander have dual monitor support. The dual monitor support is really cool with games and these Dell moniors are pretty good for games as well. when people come over you will look like a pimp with two 22'' as well Good luck!

| Hey hackerneeds! I always wondered about doing games with two monitors. Where is the Crosshairs? Now with three monitors I can see the Crosshairs would go in the middle of the center screen. But two monitors, .... Where is it? ![]() __________________ Visit and chat with the Buds at the #ABxZone channel on EFnet Internet Relay Chat If you don't have it then download mIRC from www.mIRC.com |

| All the 30" monitors (Dell, HP, and Samsung) do not have any on-screen menu controls. You have to use your video card and software to make adjustments. Other monitors should be fine. I'm currently do research for 24" widescreen monitors (almost finished) and then for the 26-28" widescreen monitors. I'm leaning toward the Samsung 244T and the 275T. |

| You might want to read this article before you decide which size you want to invest in. http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/oth...onitors_2.html ![]() __________________ Asus P4P800 Deluxe Intel P4 3.2 Extreme Edition @ 3.47 / Zalman CNPS7000-AlCu / Arctic Silver Ceramique 2x512 Mushkin PC3500 222 Black Hi Performance Level II ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon X800 XT / Samsung Syncmaster 215TW 21" Wide Screen LCD Two Western Digital RE2 500 Gb YS Raid Edition SATA hdd's Two Western Digital 250 Gb Raid Edition hdd's Two Western Digital My Book 500 Gb external USB2/Firewire hard drives LiteOn 165H6S DVD Super AllWriter / LiteOn 166s 16x DVD-Rom Onboard LAN Antec SX1240 full tower Soundblaster Audigy 2 zs Platinum / CambridgeSoundworks 5.1 DTT 3500 Digital Speakers Logitech G5 Laser Mouse Logitech G15 Gaming Keyboard Razer eXactMat + eXactRest win2000 [/quote] |

Try to run a familiar game in the native resolution on a 27, 24, 21, and a 19" somewhere. See what you like best. ![]() __________________ Visit and chat with the Buds at the #ABxZone channel on EFnet Internet Relay Chat If you don't have it then download mIRC from www.mIRC.com

1) Samsung makes their own LCD panels (Dell doesn't) and their own monitors. 2) For the 2405/2407, Dell gets the LCD panel from Samsung (the same one used in the Samsung 244T). Likewise, for the 2707, Dell is using Samsung's LCD panel (the same one used in the 275T). 3) I have read in many reviews, Samsung keeps the higher quality LCD panels for it's own monitors and sells the lower quality ones to Dell. 4) In the end, the quality and specs for the Dell monitors are not as good as Samsungs. 5) To me personally, I don't really like Dell. ( It all boils down to this: Why should I by a cheaper, lower quality knockoff, when I can buy a bit more expensive, higher quality original? That's the way I see it. Quote:

| Is it true, that later this year the new LCD monitors with refresh rate of 120mhz are coming out? I have read a lot of reviews and I like to say thanks to everyone. I still like to get a 27+ LCD Monitor but which one is the problem . The only reason I pick a large monitor because I like everything Big.and also have a 21" HP1120 monitor. In the case of older games that do not support dual monitors you only have the left or the right screen with the game on it and the desktop on the other one. If you click off the game monitor you go to the full desktop minimizing the game. (that is only an issue in most non-first person shooters). More and more games are comming out with support for dual (sepparate) monitors. If you want the monitor to "span" accross the two screens you have to controll it through your video card or a third party program. In my case when I am playing an older game like Raven Sheild or UT2003 I put the temps of my video card and CPU/motherboard on the desktop on my right screen so I can see them while I play on my left screen. or I put a movie on the right screen while playing games on the left screen (requires a good processor and video card) Hope that helps ![]()

| Thanks. So that's what two monitors do. I always had what they do in Flight Simulator in mind, with the three monitors in front of you. One looking forward and the other two off to the left side and off to the right side. Incredable when you bank the airplane towards the runway on final approach. ![]() __________________ Visit and chat with the Buds at the #ABxZone channel on EFnet Internet Relay Chat If you don't have it then download mIRC from www.mIRC.com |

| Shadow_Raven, The Samsung is a very good Monitor, will bring out the XL30 that might have HDCP, LED Backlights, 2ms response time, gamut to an NTSC-busting 123% and 2560x1600 Resolution. Not sure if it has HDMI. |

I was planning on getting the Samsung 244T but I just found out that it is being replaced with a new model - the 245T (it was suppose to be out in March). So, it's either the 245T or the 275T. I just read up on the 275T today and it looks good. I have read 3 reviews on the 275T and I think one of them mentions that it gets hot - which is bad for me since in the summer my room really heats up. As for the HDMI connector, it's one of those features that it's nice to have but not important (since the DVI connector does HDCP). I don't know if the 275T can do 1:1 pixel mapping. The 244T could pivot to portrait mode but the 275T can't - I don't know if I would use that feature or not. I'm worried about the 0.303mm pixel pitch - some user reviews for the Dell 2707 report the picture to be grainy (and that Dell should have had the resolution at 2560x1600 instead like the 30" monitors).
