Monitor with HDCP support.

My friend is building a new machine for around $3,000 and everything looks good but the monitor. The monitor he picked is a samsung 24in. I told him he should get a monitor that supports HDCP, i looked on newegg and i couldnt find any. is there another name for hdcp?

I'm sure the Dell 2407 (24") is also it has componet and dvi connectors and is Vista ready which means it is HDCP, and is the same price has the Gateway, that Gateway is a very nice monitor by the way....

You didn't say what Samsung monitor he was looking at but if its the 244T then according to this review at the link below it is HDCP compliant:

http://www.samsung.com/pdf/244t-review.pdf

Good luck.

I think BenQ has one or two that are HDMI+HDCP as well, if HDMI connectivity is a concern...

I have the 244T and I am very happy with it so far, just hope that it is HDCP compliant as the review states, the Samsung site does not say that it is anywhere that I can find.

I'm being planning on getting a 23/24" widescreen monitor for a while now. I have decided to probably get the Samsung 244T, although the Benq has a HDMI connector on it. Acer has come out with a 26" monitor, but the specs aren't as good as some of the others. I have gone to both Samsung's US and Canadian websites and it does state that it has HDCP.

I have also download the manual for the 244T as well - I find if your shopping for something electronic and have the list down to say 3 models, then download the manuals to compare them and pick the one that you want. Reading the manual for a product should answer most/all of your questions.

There is a thread over in the AVS forums where we listed as many as the 23"/24" 1920x1200 widescreen monitors that we can find. There is 2 comparison charts listing the models with what features they have to better help people compare the current models.

BTW, I read a news report around 2 months ago that Samsung is releasing a 24" LCD with a LED backlight (I'm assuming it is going to be widescreen) in 2007. I'm hoping they will have more information on it next week at the CES show.

I finally found where it says it supports HDCP in the manual but I still don't see where it says that at the US website. Thats what happens when you get old, can't see anymore, and also why I got the big monitor...........
