MS Intellimouse Optical 1.1 Stinks!

I have had the original version of this mouse for 2 years, the plain white one. I had to get a new keyboard, so I picked up a black Multimedia KB along with a black Int. Optical from Newegg for $36. All I can say is that the 1.1A version of the mouse is bad. Functionaly it is ok, but comfort is bad. They made the mouse slightly smaller and decreased the curvature noticeably.

Anybody know when the Int Explorer 4.0 mouse is coming out? I know it exists/will exist because it is shown in Intellipoint 5.0 software.
