| Quiet optical drives? I'm going to be building a system for the wife soon, and I haven't made up my mind about the CD burner. The one I have is fairly good (Sony 52 x 24 x 52) but it is loud when it spins up. I suppose I have 2 questions 1) Can a 52x drive be quieted down with some case modification like rubber fittings to reduce vibration or is 52x just basically a loud drive? 2)Is it worth it to look at a lower read/write rate drive for the volume issue? |
