| Strange Problem Please Help About To Give Up On It Any help would be welcome on this because i don’t know what else to try I am running XP Pro P4 3.4ghz with 2GB of ram all was fine then i changed the ram to 3GB and upgraded from GeIL to OCZ and thats when the problem started Now after upgrading videos are opening slow, cannot listen to songs because the sound keeps doing a loud clicking noise So as it is i really have no idea what could be causing this problem i thought after upgrading the ram to a better make would help but it seems its causing more problems I put the old ram back in and the songs stopped clicking Everything else seems to be ok its just when trying to play videos or music or sounds of any kind Anyone any idea what the caused could be Thanks for your help |

| I read in PCMag about a guy who had a similar problem. All i can say is check if you installed it correctly like maybe the ram isnt registering because its not inserted all the way. :P

| Re: Strange Problem Please Help About To Give Up On It I'd think the system wouldn't boot at all if any of the sticks weren't inserted properly. OCZ is notoriously squirrelly RAM (at least in my experience) and sometimes requires a manual reset of SPD settings. I will assume your 3GB means you have all four memory slots filled with the same type of OCZ RAM. That is to say all of the RAM sticks are indeed OCZ and from the same OCZ series. If you put it back in try manually setting the RAM timings to a setting that's more loose (slower) than SPD and see if your problems are resolved.
