Try setting the bios legacy usb to enabled, not auto. Or even disabled. I noticed that this gets worse with the 1005 beta bios series. I am using 1004.003 without problems (usb set to enabled).

The is because of the hand-off between the BIOS' Legacy Support and the O/S taking control of it. Like the dude said, you can try to disable it if you don't like it...

I just noticed the same problem. Its intermittent and sometimes doesn’t boot at all, or at least after 30 seconds, until I unplug the mouse. I’m only at 140 FSB due to the decrease in performance above 140 in Windows 2k. I don't think it has anything to do with over clocking because it did it at 133 FSB.

I had the same problem (P3 700E @ 1029). It went away with bios 1006-1. System boots/reboots quicker and O/C is slightly better.
