I ordered a set of Sennheiser PC-140's, a behind the ear style open headset. Sounds admirable with decent bass reproduction for the size of the drivers. However, for not much more money, but a whole bunch more geek look, the PC-150's feature a semi-closed design and the specs for it have much much better low frequency reproduction, since it looks like the drivers are pretty sizeable. They probably sound fantastic, I'm just not big on their looks. . . (vain, I know. :\ )

Both have mic's.

I use Altec_Lansing AHS30. The sound is Great coupled with the audigy2 . Plenty of base . Very comfortable, flexable microphone, volume control, mute, etc. For the price ($24.99) it has far exceeded my expectations as far as sound quality goes.

I've been using the Plantronics audio 60's (formally the LS1's) and they sound decent in cs except everything is so high pitched, their build quality would be "fair' at best I've had this set for 4 years or so but have had to deal with the ear pieces falling off and recently the mic snapped off. (Glue gun solved that problem) However a friend of mine just got the same set recently (last 6 months or so) and the build quality is even worse.

I just switched to the Sennhieser PC-150's they're on sale for $40US over @ ecost.com (they ship up to the great white north ) and have been using them for a couple of days. So far they sound much better than the plantronics set I was using before with greater bass reproduction and because of the over the ear style with the big drivers seem to be able to better reproduce the location of a sound. The only quibble I have is that they apply a little bit of pressure to your head and after a while the ears get sore (i wear glasses so that may be why) But I think the fitting will adjust over time. Sound quality while listening to music is also improved however the the Plantronics set i'm comparing the sennheiser's to cost about half of what the Sennheiser's go for. BTW the sennheiser's normally go for about $70 US + shipping (i checked @ newegg) so getting them for $80 CDN shipping in was a great deal.
