3Dmark 03 and 05 problems.

I am having problems running 3DMark 03 and 05. I got my new video card last week and have been trying to bench it and now and then I can complete a run and get a score. This morning I downloaded 05 and installed it and ran it for the first time. It had no problems running it then and everything looked good. I then switched Fast Writes to On and it will not finish the runs at all. For both versions it seems to hang when it is switching tests and not during the actual tests. It also seems that after I do a fresh driver install with driver cleaner I can atleast get a good run after that fresh install. Now I am not about to do a dang driver reinstall to bench stuff. I shouldn't have to. I am pretty dang sure it is not video card and I doubt it is the latest drivers I have for it right now(Cat 5.10). Any ideas what I should check?

Uh... Why not turn Fastwrites off?

ATI cards aren't supposed to use it, anyway...

Just experimenting with various settings. I've also heard Fastwrites should be on with ATI newer cards, it was only for their earlier cards that it should be turned off.
