Someone put up scores at the Futuremark forum the other day, but they were deleted by the admin. They were a lot lower than the ones the Inquirer is showing. We'll see. Scores at default speeds are of no interest to me, especially after I hook up of one of these coolers to my video card.

What type of refrigerant are you going to be using, r12 or 502?

Possibly r404a. There's a guy who'll build the cooler for me. Takes a few weeks to make them.

Yea r404a is a replacement for r12 and a lot easier to get, good luck with your new setup, you won't have to worry about heat with that setup...

I wonder how many points my Matrox G400 and Celery 1.2 Gigglehurts will score. A negative number, perhaps?

kONGO, for someone who isn't into benchmarking, you seem to show up at every benchmarking thread. A closet overclocker maybe?

Hehe, not really. I had SiSoft Sandra installed for purposes of determining the standard deviation for the memory benchmark test for a while, but that's about it.

I find the whole benchmark discussion rather pointless for the most part, but I still try to keep myself informed. They are useful for providing a general performance metric.

Benchmarks are actually good stability testing tools. People think all they have to do is run Prime95 to tell if their system is stable. Well, Prime tells you nothing about video performance. I prefer running the longest iteration of SuperPi (32M) in conjunction with 3DMark to test whether my computer is stable. Also, 3DMark will tell you a lot of things about your system (memory, CPU, etc.), if you know how to decipher information from the game test scores.
