| I upgraded from an Athlon XP 1500 (oc to 1.50ghz) to an 1800 (no overclocking). I also replaced my 256 mb Crucial DDR 2100 RAM with 256 mb Mushkin DDR 2700. Now when I run 3Dmark my score dropped from 7650 to 5200. I can't understand it at all. I ran the test numerous times with the same results. Any ideas ![]()

| Check the memory settings first, the Mushkin PC2700's SPD says 2.5-3-2.5 set it manually, but that shouldn't be 2450 points, also set the fsb to where it was before...

| PC2700 is a spec for DDR333 motherboards unless you are overclocking very high (around 166fsb) you will loose performance- I would use high quality PC2100 (low latency)

| I found the problem after some fiddling. I tried the two above suggestions, but no changes. The problem was that I had checked the Quincunx Anti-Aliasing in checked under Direct 3D additional properties. Now I know how much that option slows down things- whew!
