Angry HARDOCP tries to defend DDR ram over RDRAM for review

My first:
"Welp for starters, you are officially now an AMD ***** with this page:
http://hardocp.com/article.html?art=MzQ4LDI=
I say this and so do many others as you give the AMD setup everything it need to perform top notch then cripple the **** out of the P4 setups and call it fair. FAIR MY ***! Once was the time you could be counted on for good reviews, not anymore. As you have lowered your standards in reviews just to make AMDZealots happy and to keep the add dollars coming in. Atleast THG has the willingness to use RDRAM as it IS the best setup for P4s. A fair comparison is using the best possible for both, not one and cripple the other as you have done. Please feel free to try and defend your setups as I assure you, you can't. FAIR would have been the best possible setup for both rigs. And here that would be AMD+nForce+DDR vs P4+i850E+PC1066.
PS: I hope and pry VIA dies a very long and stretched out death"
His responce;
"Thanks, glad we could ***** for you. Will you tell them they own us some money now?"

My next;
"You didn't ***** for me, you *****d for all the AMDZealots out there that will now use your revew and a few others that crippled P4 setups with DDR memory and called it a "FAIR" comparison. When in fact this is not a "FAIR" comparison. What it is though is a AMD advertising dream. AMD couldn't get better advertising then from review sites such as yourself, ANAND, ACES and a few others that review P4s with DDR memory. A memory type which is known for not allowing P4s to perform to thier full potential. But because AMDZealots don't care about that, they only see "FAIR", they'll use your review as a trusted review. This is not the case."

His to follow;
"Fact of the matter it is a very fair comparison if you talk to folks about what they are buying, and if for sure is not RDRam. It is dead for all intents and purposes."

First, welcome to Asusboards!

Second - slow down there. No need to let so much energy get cought up one questionable source. It's been known for quite awhile that many review sites are funded by support from certain companies, and thus need to be taken with a grain of salt. Read carefully and read around, esp. the forums. The truth will come out.

And by all means, don't let Kyle Bennett and crew get yer gourd!

I'm posting this on as many message boards as I can that deal with Technology. Reason is because of his last statement. "RDRAM is dead". I wonder just how many of your visitors here would love to let him know other wise.

Asusboards has nice balance of RDRAM and DDR supporters. We read, we discuss, and we think. RDRAM is far from dead here.

Well I'm triing to get this out as fast as I can to get people to EMAIL KYLE and let him know RDRAM is far from DEAD as he seems to think it is. Your readers and others of the like need to let Kyle and other reviewers know that RDRAM isn't dead and that reviewing P4s to XPs using only DDR makes them looks bad as far as reviewers go.

Atleast THG has comparisons in his review with P4s using PC3200, PC800 and PC1066 type memories.

Everybody can have his own opiniom about what's dead and what not. RDRam is not dead and here at Asusboard.Com we know that,because here can everyone has his or her own opinion.
We don't flame each other here and that opens up people and we want to leave it that way. You input is welcome.

I can understand this, but unless he and other reviewers are taught that RDRAM isn't dead, the total number of good review sites will dwindle even more. I'm here doing this to try and wake these jerks up.

And thanks to all for welcoming me. A friend from MAXPC is already here. SUPERGUY or something of the like.

I like Kyle, I like HardOCP, and I like DDR.

I personally haven't liked RDRAM ever since the i820.

But should you really care what I think? NUP!

Do I really care what you think? NUP!

I'm not trying to be nasty, but dude - just take a deep cleansing breath because you really need to chill! There is no reason to get all nasty here, simply because you don't agree on Kyle's opinions of RAM. Thats even more childish than the rampant, and completely stupid, video card foyboyism. I mean, its only RAM ffs!

As long as *you* are secure in your choice of RAM, then be happy with it. If someone doesn't agree, then so what?

Beefy

The point is that if the review results would have been better for the P4 if they had used RDRAM then I think they should have.

Some sites used BOTH.. with and without RDRAM and you could see quite a difference... So HARDOCP definitely did an inferior review, compared with some others. This reflects on them, whether you like RDRAM or not.

Cheers

Tam

Thank you. That is the point I have been trying to make here. Either include the RDRAM in your benches for a broader comparison or leave the term "FAIR COMPARISON" out of your review.
