Aquamark3: Accurate Benchmarking for Old and New (DirectX9) Apps?

Quote:
From Tom's Hardware:
AquaMark 3 Tricore:
R9800P 256MB v3.7 44839
5900U v51.75 45826

Afrer looking at the scores of 78,000+, I thought my 47600s were bad.

Now, I don't this so.
Also, it Looks like a lot of the test is CPU

This should pretty much end the questions on where some of those AM3 scores came from:

"Many freaks tweak their card to the max by using lower LOD settings and other registry hacks to lower the quality of the rendered image and increase the score. People who are not aware of those tricks wonder why their own scores are so low compared to the top scores, even if they use a similar system."

Yeah, most of us are law abiding citizens who would like to know the true performance of our equipment compared to others. So your right Realdieu. Sad to see that they have managed to de-legitimize a brand new benchmark.

By the way Realdieu, what is your 3dmark2001 score with your system set up with the 47,600 score?

That's ok, I new you read it wrong.

I think it is best to tweek my system, not the benchmark.
I am happy with my score, since, I gave up trying to OC this CPU any more. I seem to get lower benchmarks if I go past my current settings. I am saving my pennies for the Prescott.

Take a look at this ChuckBam, you are going to be in for a big surprise soon. I know you have already heard about this, but here is a newer article in regards. Some said it was not worth the hype. I say they are very very wrong..

The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.
