Well, perhaps I am being too hasty with my results. Referencing the AquaMark ARC - Detail Compare, the linchpin coming in at 57734 with the FX5900 appears to be a bloke named Gamer’s Bench. He has a staggering 1600MHz advantage. His core and memory (612/956) settings are much higher as well. If I can bump my core and memory settings comparatively, there should be no problem getting Hector Ruiz and company in the 55K region.

Mr. Northwood:

Low CPU score? You need to look a little closer brother love. My AquaMark CPU score is almost 10000 whereas Mr. Bench and company are splitting the seams at just slightly over 12000. My 10000 is quite extraordinary in that we are comparing a 2.2GHz Opteron to a portly 3.8GHz Pentium processor running for its life.

However, I know you just having fun…

here is score

http://arc.aquamark3.com/arc/arc_vie...unID=274973068

P4 2.4c @ 3242 w/Zalman 7000cu
271 FSB
PC4000 GOLD 512 DC 1:1
IC7-MAX3
Radeon 9700 Pro w/Zalman HeatPipe

This thing really cranks up my Radeon, on 3dmark my temperatures never go above 34c on my digital doc, but this monster ran it all the way to 38c.

Avg CPU Temps were 38c-42c
Avg Memory Temps 32c-35c
Avg Southbridge Temps 33c-36c
Avg Northbridge Temps 32c-34c
Case Temps 25c-27c
Ambient 24.5

The digital doc is must have if you're going to overclock seriously. The above temps really show you what is being worked during benchmarks.

Now that I know this, I will definitely be adding some sort of cooling for my southbridge. I noticed the top of the case was a lot hotter than the middle or bottom, so I'm definitely placing some sort of fan up there to push the air out. I still haven't removed the NB HS, so I will do this soon and add some OCZ Ultra 2 in place of the crap goo that aBit puts on it.

As for the memory, I haven't come up with anything yet, I'm hoping that in bringing all the other temps down, I will bring the memory temps down a couple of degrees.

I think that if a benchmark recorded temps from the on board sensors (I know they are off quite a bit, but only as a guideline) it would be much more beneficial to know how well the overall system performs and it's stability. There are guys out there with outrageous overclocks, how do I know they are not burning up or running through the benchmark with tons of artifacts. This would definitely be a great value to benchmarking and overclocking.

Well, there is my 2 sense worth

Cheers,
I can't wait to see how much further we all get with this new tool.

Two threads on the same subject merged into one. If some posts appear in the wrong place it's because of the merge. Just so you guys know.

Ya feels kinda cool hey. I'm #1 in my class of Radeon 9700 Pro. I won't brag too much about it, cause I know I'll be way down there by the end of the day, hehehe!

Cheers,

The aniso probably kills it.

Time to test 51.75...
And the result was... 4.7% increase...better than nothing. And the detonator was much more helpful in this version.

Score: 16227 Det: 51.75 +4.7%
CPU: 10007 - 1.2% (?)
GFX: 1767 +5.3%

But.... Heinz still in lead...!!

Temperature improvement
Seriously... One thing I discovered, that is remarkable, is that core temp of GPU is down about 5 degrees C !
45.23 gave around 54 C idle temp
51.75 stays rock steady on 49 C.
