No, I did not test the original 8.07beta.
The Omega I have is based on the 8.07beta driver but you know - the Omega-driver comes with some extra tweaking...
*g* things that are just for fun? I own a Yamaha YZF-R6 and like to drive verry fast. Is it neccessary to rush with 289km/h over the german autobahn? Nope... but it's exciting and a lot of fun.

Is that a special 9800Pro? I cannot overclock mine above 400/360.

Meh!

All 3DMark 2005 shows is how good your PC is at running 3DMark 2005. It has no relevance what so ever. Take a look at the 5950 results, which score below a 9600XT. I know which one of those I would rather have in my system...

Sorry, but I respectfully disagree. 3DMark will actually tell you a lot about your system, and I'm not just talking about video card performance. Most people don't even know what each of the tests is measuring or how those tests can stress system components. If your memory and CPU are not up to the task, you will find out fast enough in 3DMark.

Then how come you can have an Athlon XP 2000 with a 9800 Pro beat an Athlon 64 3500 with a 9700 Pro in 3DMark 2003? Its predominantly video card, and even then, a highly unrealistic use of video cards. Its a nice eye candy demonstration but I certainly dont consider it to be a useful scale to measure the performance of a computer.

3DMark is hardly an eye candy demonstration since it's run at 1024X768 with AA & AF usually turned off.

I run 3DMark for the fun and the challenge. It really doesn't matter to me whether the majority of people think it's a waste of time. I'm not into gaming, but I don't condemn those who do it.

Last but not least, 3DMark is a good stability tester. If your system can't complete the tests with your card at default settings, then your computer is not 3D stable. Simple as that.

Peace.

On those points I will not argue . 3DMark 2005 will be some nice eye candy once some hardware comes out to actually run it at >30fps

seems a little low for a PE to me. What drivers are you using & have you set all sliders to performance? I got 5900 with an oc'd 6800GT (440/1200) as a reference for you.

Hi,

I don't have set the sliders to performance, and V-sync is on auto.
Do you have V-sync set to OFF ??

I use the drivers which came with the card.

Not the 4.10....will this make a lot of difference ??
