Got two new XFX 6800GS, managed to sqeeze 10661 out of them so far. When I get time I'm going to clean the HS's and replace with some AS5 and see how much further I can go.

3Dmark05 score

Greetings all, After many problems and one major disater involving water cooling. (probably can guess where that is going) I have my rig up, running, and blessedly stable. I am finally getting to do some benchmarks. I received 13652 in 3Dmark05 at it's stock settings. I think I should note that I have a slight OC on the CPU to an even 3.0g. That was achieved simply by raising the multiplier from 14x to 15x and raising the core voltage from 1.4v to 1.5v My specs are in my profile. I just haven't gotten around to making a decent sig yet. Peace!

Pretty impressive scores there eva! I am particuarly interested in the 14,402 score with a rig fairly similar to mine. I have the "ultra" versions of those vcards so by all rights I would think I would achive a higher score. It looks like your OC on the FX/57 proved to be a huge increase. I tried lowering the multiplier down to 12x with 256HTT and was a no post. in fact it locked the second I typed the 6. If you don't mind my asking... What voltages did you use at those frequencies? I used to have that very same mobo but had some major bios issues. I probably just needed a new bios chip but after I had a vga waterblock leak that fried one of my vcards and the bottom PCiE slot I opted for the Abit fatality. Nice very stable board though I wish I had better luck with the DFI. I just didn't want to go through the no post to cmos even at stock settings ever again. I liked the layout of the DFI much better than the Abit. I think a drunk chinaman designed the floppy and molex connector right under the last pci slot among other things. Anyway, any insight you care to give me would be appreciated. Thanks!

ohhh ok I thought something was strange. I guess I should have read a little more thoroughly. Hell of a score with any chip

damn then I was right in the OC on the CPU making such a huge difference in score. My board doesn't like that setting. Have you had any bios problems with the lanparty board? I see you just have a slight increase in core voltage like where I have it now. 12x? Something just doesn't seem right maybe you can explain it to me. It would make more sense if I wasn't running the ultra versions of the 7800GTX (can hit 600/1800 no problem) but I have a feeling even if I used the same cpu clock settings I still wouldn't jump much above 14400. Like I said I never got to benchmarking with the dfi mobo (the very same you have) it never was up long enough and I had to cross my fingers everytime to get through cmos. Now there is a board that should have had ccmos on the front panel lol. A new bios chip and I might have been alright though.

Nice score. I'm using same MB as you are and have been able to get as high as 10661. I have a feeling wih some tweaks I may be able to break 11,000. I am having trouble getting higher than 2.8 on my 3700 though. And my 6800GS's already came OC'd out of the box so I may have hit a wall. Still proud of my score though.

Give us a link so we can do a compare.

Hey your score is nothing to balk at. I mean any score over 10000 and you will be in gaming heaven in real life application. I'm afraid these boards just are not for the hardcore overclocker. Mine doesn't like me to raise the HTT much at all at any multiplier setting. I do wish the DFI board had worked out better for me but if you had seen the crap I went through with it's tissue paper bios you would know what I mean. Maybe I just got a lemon but after I had to get a new one anyway I opted for the Abit. I'm really not sorry for the choice since all those probs I had before simply went away. Everyone in the DFI forum was saying it your memory timings or power supply etc. I was like bullsh__ it's the damn mobo! But then you see scores like VGA up there beating mine with less video and I wish it had worked out better. The abit wont hit those settings. 256HTT? forget about it. Still I am surprised he got so high with even that clock. I was hoping he would explain it to me but I guess he just shows off and runs lol.

Not as good as I'd like... this is with my old FX-57, got a new one that benches at 3.825ghz and a dual core 4800+ that does around 3.4ghz but haven't been able to get it all together yet to beat this score from like a month ago....
