funny I haven't played with it a while till just before I saw your post. I switched video cards around again. For some reason even though they are the exact same cards I get almost 30mhz higher clock with one on the bottom and one on the top. weird. Got highest to date too 14224 in mark05

I would say that's about right. With my system listed in my signature I get about 6100. You have a X2 so that will add a few hundred. I don't know which version of the XFX 7600GT you got but my eVga is running 580/1500 from the factory. I do have a slight overclock on my Opteron and I'm running RAID 0. But I haven't tried to OC the video card, since it already is.

Thanks. Good to know that I am on the right path then.

I don't think having a dual core gives you an increase on 3dmark05. I didn't think they measured mutithreads till 3dMark06. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Arriba Arriba Andale Andale!

My P-III scored 4442 3Dmarks yesterday!
CPU Score: 1539

But, CPU was at 1.5 instead of 1.6 GHz and the 7800GS from Gainward with its 512 MB Ram is still on air and not overclocked.

Greetings

Dru

I don't think something is wrong, our videocard is holding your system back. with a decent videocard ( 78 - 79 series or even the newer 7600GT you could get the double amount in 3dmark) I think for your videocard the score is acceptable mate

Just verify that the ram is running at 1T and in Dual channel.

ScoreS around 3500 with a 6600Gt, around 4900 with a 6800GT card, 6500 with a 7800GT, 8000 with a 7800GTX card and 10500 with a 7900GTX card.

Just upgrade in the future ya vidcard to be be a happy fragger

and CPU helps a lot in 3dmark 2005 and 2006 if it's a dual core and in 2006 when it's an Intel, I saw at a lan outperforming an Intel 3200@3500 an AMD64 4000@2700 with a Nvidia 7800GTX ( the AMD had an Asus TOP while the other GTX was at lower speeds ( drivers and stuff verified) with 400 points. Other way around Aquamark the Intel scored 5000 points less than the AMD due to 4x512 ram ( 2T) slower vidcard,etc,...

Synthetic benchies give you a good indication but are not 100% reliable.
