Had to use my SK8V/FX51 because my A8V is not working at the moment. Running FX51 @ 2834MHz with X800XT @ 653/631.

Alright I just went through about 2 pages now and either FM links are dead or there is no compare or no CPU test. I want to compare Prescott to FX's. Also you guys running those X800 XT P.E.'s around 600MHz, are you sure you have not bad pixels in those benchies? I can run 3DMark05 fine with artifacting. I find it hard to believe these 100MHz OC and no artifacts. I have water cooling also.

Thanks and lets keep this shootout as honest as possible.

If you have a volt-modded card like I do, you can run higher core and memory speeds without artifacting. Default gpu voltage on an X800XT is 1.4v. When I'm benching, I run at 1.7v. Some people run even higher than that. I can also boost voltage for the memory chips. Extreme cooling will also help. Most of the artifacting you see if caused by heat. Here's a pic of a card that's modded similar to mine.

My card has a Molex that makes it easy to measure voltage.

Ahh, I forgot about voltage mods. I had artifacts at 580/580 with my X800 XT PCIe (2ns/1000MHz GDDR) but core temps were only in the 40's. I don't know why people leave off the CPU tests. It doesn't seem to take half as long to run the new 3DMark as it did 03 and 01.

People who do a lot of benching don't run the CPU tests because they don't count in the final score. Only the three game tests do. If you have the Pro version, you can delete the CPU tests. Also, I'm not sure how much useful information comes out of the CPU tests. I mean, results showing 2-3fps are supposed to be meaningful to me?

No, I got a score over 5000 in the CPU test. I have the $19.95 special from FM that I got for $9.95 upgrade price. I think I can select different tests but I just run everything at default so as to fair (hoping all does the same).

@Sandog: Another reason why some people drop the CPU test: Not all OCs are stable. If their system can run the graphics tests that produce the score it's ok. If the system will crash during the CPU test: Who cares - they already got their high score. So some of them may run the benchmark as short as possible, save the result and shut down the system as fast as possible.

As you can read it between the lines from Sierrabound:
Quote:
When I'm benching, I run at 1.7v.
So it's not the "usual" configuration of the system and the benchmark scores, that were (once upon a time) meant to show your actual system performance, shows a result that does not fit to the every day system.

Compare your results just to others that have a similar system and their cards at stock speeds or the same OC you have.
