My 7800 GT with P4 3.2 all at standard clock speeds is getting 15,690. I did that after not reinstalling windows. I just put in the new MB, CPU, and Video card. Let Windows change everthing over when it rebooted. Did a really good job of converting from a 845 chipset to a 945 chipset and going from an ATI card to NVIDIA. I plan on reformatting and reinstalling after xmas, but I just wanted to know what it would do right away!

Well I've kept track of my scores on Futuremark 03 and here's what I've upgraded so far and how my score has changed....

14869 (+4157 - 31.81% Increase in Score)
**A8N-SLI Deluxe ** 1 x Nvida XFX 7800GT ** 74GB Raptor ** 1GB
Corisair DDR400 ** Windows XP MCE 2005**

10712 (+4854 - 82.86% Increase in Score)
**A8V Deluxe** ATI X850 Pro ** 74GB Raptor ** 1GB Corisair DDR400 ** Windows XP MCE 2005**

5858
**A8V Deluxe ** 9800 Pro AIW ** 1GB Corisair DDR400 ** Windows XP MCE 2005**

I have yet to overclock my new motherboard and the 7800GT that I just got, waiting untill I get another so I can SLI them and see what the difference in score is with out overclocking.
>Right now my ram is 1gig(2x512mb) 3-3-3-8, if I were to upgrade to 2gig(4x512mb) 2-2-2-5, would that increase my score a lot? I know it'll increase my performance so I will eventually do this but for now I'm planning on buying my XFX card again when it comes back in stock.

I finally got a 6600GT after 3 years with a 5700 NU.

Only scores 8400 or so, but I'm quite happy with it. I tend to be a slighty behind the times kindy guy who waits for older cards/games to become cheap, that's when I upgrade. I only bought the "latest and greatest" once, which was a Voodoo5 way back when, for $600... not that I hate the card, but boy did I end up regretting that one when 3dfx went under!

Bwuahaha!

Want to know the latest P-III score?

11756 3Dmarks!!
CPU Score: 285.

CPU was at 1.5 GHz and the 7800GS (from Gainward, AGP, 512 MB Ram) is still on air and not overclocked.
So, will my rig reach 12K ?

Greetings

Dru

Change to the Dark Side ... ähem ... i mean... change to the latest Nvidia product bajo.

No, don´t do it. The real in-game inprovement is marginal. When i got lousy framerates at low details, i can now have high details and lousy framerates. The CPU is the real bottleneck here (at least).

So i can play future/recent games, but with lousy frame rates, better say "i can run" these games.
I still can play recent/"not so new" games at slightly higher fps (if at all) but graphics look better.
I can play old games with much higher fps and better graphics.

I´m still not sure if the benefits justifies the costs, despite the "fun factor".

Greetings

Dru
