Tusl2-c Overclocking -help Me!

Hi
A few days ago I purchased the 1.2Ghz Celeron Tualatin core CPU and a Tusl2-C. I have a Wester Digital ATA 66 20 Gig hard drive, with Windows XP on it. First, I tried to over clock it to 1380 Mhz, it worked fine and stable, which it is at now. Then I tried 1.4 Ghz, Before Windows XP got to the Boot scree where the blue bar loads, It gave me an error about DLL's missing or being corrupt for the Kernal. So I had to REinstall windows again. Then, I tried to get it to 1.4 Ghz again, same thing happend. Now, I didn't raise the voltage, it stayed at the standard 1.475V. What could be causing it to do this. I must add, since I put in the Tusl2 with a new CPU, windows XP wouldnt let me boot, it gave me that blue screen telling you that your hardware is switched. So a total of 3 times I reformatted. Could it have been a bad Windows Disk. This time, I used a different XP disk, but Im weary to overclock. Whats the problem, could it be my IDE slots going from 33 to 38-40 messing with the HDD? Or Insufficient voltages? Or bad Winodws disk?
Thanks
Brandon

I have had the same problem but with 98se. If I raised the voltage I could get it to go to 1.5 ghz but my pci bus was too high and none of the cards on the pci bus would work. So I scaled it back to 1.42 with the increased voltage and found the highest stable point that I could get.

I also have a 1.2celeron on a abit st6 with xp. I got that to be stable at 1.5 but while trying to go further,I got those blue screens saying corrupt files etc... When I got those I reset the cpu speed back to normal and every thing was fine to start again.
I didn't have to reload windows. I don't think your disk is bad.

I hope this helps

Talking

Asus_N_U:
I have a tusl2-c with cel 1.0A tualatin cpu....1012 bios
In the bios I set it to MANUAL, set it to 133:133:33 and raised the voltage....from the default 1.475 to 1.625....it runs win2kprosp3,win2ksrvsp3 and xp pro sp1 as a triple boot...
it has the stock cpu fan and 2 case fans and runs at rest at 50C cpu/34C mobo....

its been like this since last novemeber and has been rock solid stable....I have CAS2 crucial 256x2 PC133 memory

I would set my bios as follows:
Advanced Menu
CPU Internal Frequency = Manual
CPU Frequncy Multiple - 12 (12x 100Mhz default - 1200= 1.2)
FSB:SDRAM:PCI Freq Ratio = 133:133:33
FSB:SDRAM/PCi Freq (Mhz) = 133:133:33
cpu vcore = 1.625

you should then be able to boot it at 12x133= 1596 = 1.596 or 1.6

By setting the fields to the above you are only Overclocking the CPU frontside bus and leaving the pci and memory bus at their defaults which makes the pc much more stable

I also have my mobo set to JUmperFree and my VIO jumper on 2-3 which is 3.4V (the default according to the manual).

hope this helps

Well check the specs i have a similar setup, what type of memory are you using. Memory might be the culprit in your case. i have pc 150 @166 and i run at 1.54ghz no sweat. Memory is always highly overlooked. 133 can only take you so far. might want to look into pc150 sticks from OCZ alows me to run @ 166 FSB 2-2-2
5/7 (512 maxed). my voltage never goes over 1.52 and the memory voltage is at default. I have a P3 version not the cele version but that shouldnt make any diffrence., only in benching.
