| Why Oh Why is my cpu slow? Here is the sandra result for my current setup P4t-e, p4-a 2 ghz 512 socket 478 cpu, 512 megs rambus pc800 samsung 40ns memory. No overclock, not hot. Question is why is my performance showing so slow compared to the sandra benchnark result from the same cpu? Whetstone performance seems real crappy. Any thoughts?

| You need to look at your benchmark "reference" again. The one directly below yours is for SMP (two processors). Compare your benchmark to the one in my SIG, and SMILE REAL BIG

| Exactly. SMT is the hyperthreading stuff, which none of us can actually do yet. I guess the designers just got ahead of themselves.

| Don't give too much on those nechmarks, they can be helpful but can give you a bad feeling if your system doesn't get the same high benches like other ones here. I don't care anymore if my benches are lower than others, but my system is 100% stable and I can play all the games I want without a problem, too many of those benches are not for real or not a practical setup and therefore are meaningless. |
