Until the change is made you are free to use the report function on your own post. In the comment field you can just state that the transaction is closed and ask us to delete your thread.

Using that approach your thread should be removed within a day (and probably within the hour).

You are free to check out any item before you buy, including pricechecking. If you find a better price you can (privately) bargain. Just try and be civil, there has been some heartache before when tact was not used.

If you intended on selling the item, then I would say no problem, but if you just want to see what it's worth then I'd just ask in the regular forums..

What about listing Internet Bargains

Where is there a place for sharing bargains like the one I found today? XFX 6600GT for $158 after rebate at MonarchComputer?
I see deals and whish I would have a good place to find deals on the things I need - not just the ones I already have or don't need. If there were a place to search for bargais it would be sweet - or maybe there is and I don't know?
Thanks

Is the 100-post-minimum rule still in force? I assume not, since I've been able to post in this forum as a potential buyer. However, I've been thinking of selling some stuff recently and want to make sure it's OK to make a "FS" post.

Thanks for clarification!

The 100 minimum is only for selling. The reason is simple - we don't want people coming here and joining just to sell stuff. Who knows where that stuff might have come from. Members who are regular posters here get known, and can be trusted that what they sell is legit and exactly as advertissed. Now, if there is something specific that you would like to sell, contact one of the administrators or moderators and ask for permission to post the sale. Exceptions are rare, but AFAIK, have been made on rare occasions. You cannot post the thread directly, that would have to be done with the help of one of the leadership group.

Understand, this has nothing to do with you specifically. That rule, as well as several other restrictions on what new members can and cannot do, have been made to protect ABX from illegitimate sales, spammers, and other undesirable people who wander the Internet doing their thing.

It's not 100 posts anymore, instead it's 90 days

Ah, ha - that got changed. Now that you mention that, I seem to recall that happening when we went to vB3 maybe. Want to change the FAQs on that?

So, Sandpiper, you should be fine to post. If you have any problems, just let any of us know, and we'll try to figure out the problem and fix it.

Edit: I changed the first post in the thread to reflect this change.
