| Web hosting services Can anyone recommend a good company to deal with that handles Web/Domain hosting? I could do a search myself but I'm wondering if any of you have dealt with a company that you know is decent to deal with. Thanks. Last edited by DarkFaith : 07-12-2007 at 02:21 PM. Reason: Mistake |

| Not an expert in this field. I have my site and online store with lunarpages for over a year now. Switched from another that was more money, offered far less bandwidth and services. One small tip I can pass on is that you should not register your domain name using the free one that comes with your account. If you do and decide to move the site, it may be difficult to keep the domain name. Just make sure you check into this.

| We've been using Lunarpages for a few years, for a site my wife maintains, and have been extremely pleased with it in every way. We use the free ftp program SmartFTP to upload files (free for personal, educational, and non-profit use), which makes uploading large numbers of files, or large files, faster and easier than using the Lunarpages Control Panel (which is ok to use for smaller uploads). I've had some exposure to GoDaddy, which a relative uses, and it was horribly slow and cumbersome (at least when using their "web page tonight" feature). -- Al Last edited by ctal : 07-12-2007 at 12:51 PM. |

| I'm no expert either. Thanks for the replies. I will have a look into Lunarpages. Thanks again. |

| Glad you like 1and1.com. I was thinking of going with them, or maybe godaddy.com for some webhosting to go along with a game server I run.

| Anyone use or know anything about Bluehost? I am looking at 1and1.com for some webhosting, but I seen this provider and so I thought I'd ask first here. I see most providers offer similiar pricing plans and features, but I want to go with one that has a good reputation, fast downloads, high uptime, and ability to run cron jobs. I don't think godaddy.com offers cron jobs, and 1and1.com offers cron with only their business plan and higher.

| Looks like I am going to go with Host Monster and give them a go. They have everything I am looking for, and all the reviews about them that I saw were pretty good. I looked at lunarpages tonight, but accessing any of their pages was really slow while I was browsing their site. http://www.hostingreviewsbyusers.com/host-list http://web-hosting-services.topchoicereviews.com/
