The ABX Review Team is proud to make available to members and visitors The ABX Labs, a collection of reviews, articles, guides, and other original content written by team members and others.

On occasion, the Review Team will solicit or be offered hardware or fully licensed software without charge for the purpose of producing reviews. Frequently reviewers will be permitted to keep and use these items after the review is completed and published. This is not something that is unique to ABX. Many manufacturers and reviewers have similar arrangements. We make these arrangements public at this time in our effort to make the work of the Review Team as open as possible.

The ABX Review Team is dedicated to making ABX Labs a leader in bringing objective and accurate reviews to its readers to assist them in their computer related decisions. We will accept products for review only with a “no strings attached” understanding with the provider that our objectivity will never be compromised. Whether a reviewed product is provided without charge or purchased by the reviewer, if it does not meet expectations, falls short of performance by competitors, or otherwise presents problems for the user, we will say so, explicitly and directly.

Unfortunately, given the fact that reviews are written for ABX Labs without compensation, failing to accept products for review without charge would either reduce the number of reviews available or place an unreasonable financial burden on reviewers. Such arrangements will also allow us to make reviews available in a timelier manner. We recognize that reviewing products that have been provided free to the reviewer may lead, perhaps reasonably, to speculation by some that the conclusions of a review are tainted. We unequivocally assure our readers that this will not occur in any reviews in the Labs.

We are firmly committed to this principle and will not waver from it. We believe this commitment will be evident in the reviews themselves.

As a matter of course a copy of this disclaimer will be provided to any manufacturer, distributor, retailer, or other third party vendor or individual supplying hardware or software to ABXZone for review under the circumstances outlined in paragraph # 2 above. This will be done prior to receiving said equipment as not to mislead or convey that anything other than an honest, straight-forward, and forthright review will be rendered.
