Eluminx keyboard review

Hi all,

I was captivated by the idea of having a backlit keyboard, since I like to work at night and like to work in low-light areas and in the dark. Well this keyboard makes that possible and it looks awesome in the dark. It is not too bright where it distracts you from the screen, but plenty bright to see and look cool.

However, this is NOT a desktop keyboard. It is ultra-compact and ultra-slim. You could slide it under a door . Unfortunately, I can bearly type on it. The keys are like a laptop, very slim, aren't raised up like a normal keyboard. All the function keys and other keys are very tiny, and the spacebar is the length of a kit kat bar, if even that.

The keys themselves are a good quality, but the outer case has a cheap look and feel $99, almost like a generic outer casing from radio shack or something, with 3 simple holes for "lock" lights, and for example the words "Caps Lock" is part of the case molding, and they're not even painted; So it has an unfinished look for $99. The keyboard looks strangely out of place on my desktop because it's so small. There is no need to have a keyboard this small for a desktop. Also, my wrists and fingers are aching a little from using it; If they were raised a bit more it would be easier to feel out the keys and find what you want. So expect to retrain your fingers to work in a tighter area. I'm not sure I want my home system to be this uncomfortable. The whole point of working at home on your system is that you have the luxury of plenty of space to work and play. I mean, I have a huge full tower Lian Li case on my floor, a large U shaped desk, and the keyboard looks puny on my desk.

In short, if you want something which is very unique and looks awesome in the dark, try it out. It's not worth the money, but that's not why we buy such things. This keyboard may be perfect for you if you have no deskspace whatsoever and just enough room for a set of keys. This thing will fit.
