| In the bios there is an option to set the sata controller to raid or base. Do you have it set to base? :wave2:

| If the drives are not detected with the "clone" of the OS it could have gone wrong. For setting up a new OS it should work. Try the following (most is already said though,but..) **SINGLE SATA DRIVE +IDE DRIVE ONLY ** 1) Have your IDE as OS 3) Plug SATA HD in Sata 1 (this worked with me, but some say 3 or 4 are more stable) 2) Format just incase your SATA HD (with windows, Seagate, 3rd Party etc) 3) Follow instruction to setup up New HD as OS 4) When ready to set-up new OS on the SATA HD Shut-Down and unplug IDE and remove jumper or set to slave 5) Restart and disable RAID in Bios and Setup OS, dont install SATA or RAID drivers. 6) If this all works and OS is Set-up shutdown and plug IDE back in 7) Restart and go to BIOS 8) Configure SATA HD as 1st HD and Boot Drive 9) Restart and if neccesary move data to new HD. 10)You can Shutdown and unplug your SATA drive to format your IDE, but you can aslo use your SATA HD to format your IDE to set it up as a storage drive. Good Luck

I would say that you should enable SATA when you get another hard drive.
