NvTempLogger reads straight through Nvidia's dll responsible for the temp sensor so there is no way you would get a wrong reading thru NvTempLogger... Whatever is present in Nvidia's Control Panel under Temperature Settings, it is the same in NvTempLogger...

That's all !

OK, I recieved my Logisys CF206 today and I don't see the 6600gt listed on the back of the pack where it tells you what clip and what hole to use...... Is it a no-brainer to put on or is there anything I need to know before I pull my card?

So I've had this cooler sitting on my desk for a week or so just looking for the right time to get at it.... One of the kids computers crashed today and it turned out to be the fan on his ATI 9600 256mg... I figured, good time to put the new cooler on my 6600gt and migrate the evga cooler to his 9600 and overclock it a bit maybe....
The cooler instalation was pretty straight foreword and I put it together and pushed the magic button, fans, lights, HDs.....no video!!!!
I figured "oh crap....I just fried my 2 month old video card"...so I pulled it out and one of the pins on the back of the card pushed through the plastic insulation pad on the clip and shorted..... I put the stock cooler back on it and it worked fine......
I guess I need to find something suitable to put on the back of the clip... the pin sticks out a fair bit so putting the second one on it may or may not work..

I'm VERY GLAD it didn't fry your card, that could have SUCKED!!! So, I think you should use a piece of balsa wood with electrical tape on it (I ended up doing that to my card because that very thought was freaking me out that it could poke through). The balsa is soft enough that it can imprint with the pins without penatration, and the elecrrical tape helps in case the balsa soaks up moisture. Also, don't tighten the screws all the way like they say, because the balsa takes up more room, and I think there's too much pressure on the GPU anyways. You could just put the balsa on top of the little pad, but the pad was pretty screwed up after I installed it the first time. So I ditched it for balsa with black vinyl tape (sticky side on balsa). Also, choose balsa thick enough for the pin to not protrude. Good luck, should work very well!!!

That sounds like the ticket....I'll be ordering another one of these cards tommorow for a christmas present for #2 son and we'll see what kind of temps it pulls in his case (mine aren't that bad after I used the arctec silver on it)

Maybe take a page from Sir Skully's book, and use fun-tak.

So, I just put about 20 layers of electrical tape around the clip and put it in that way, I also bucked a hole in the side cover for another 80mm fan to draw the heat away from the cooler......It's now idling at 51-53 and it only hit 60-62 when playing fear.....time to play some more with the bios methinks...

So I enabled coolbits and let it auto detect the optimal clock for it
it came up with 579 core and 1.06 memory in the 3d mode....so far so good and temps only hit 64c playing fear and 52c at idle....

My load temps are better with the OC than the stock speed/fan was at idle, wowzers
