The Terminator C3, I used a 40 gig hdd and 256 megs DDR 333 memory. However, I did upgrade the CD-rom 52X to an Asus DVD-rom so that added a bit. At todays prices these components cost me 250$ Canadian so roughly 205$ US including the upgrade to the dvd-rom before taxes. You would need to add the cost of Win XP but I resently tried Knoppix 3.7 and it runs great so if you use Linux, the OS is free

| Thank you, yamawho! Thanks to your review,I bought a Terminator C3 and equiped it with a WD 80 gig hard drive,512 mb Kingston memory, and a Toshiba DVD/CD-RW combo drive. For basic computing, using PCLinuxOS as my operating system,it works great. It even handles DVD's without slowing down!! To say I was suprised (and delighted,at the same time)is an understament! The whole thing(including a new CDL 17" monitor)cost only $400.00US!Simply unbeatable |

| Update The onboard nic died yesterday for some reason ... just couldn't get it working again. Since this system has one free PCI slot, I added a network card and all is well. This is the 1st failure I've had with it.

| I'd like to chime in! I'm running a Terminator A7VT w/XP Pro SP1, AMD Sempron 2200+, 512 MB (PC2100), stock CD, Sony DVD-RW, ATI Radeon 7000 64 MB (PCI), Seagate Barracuda 40 GB, Thermaltake Tornado CPU Fan/Sync, and a 15" LCD. I must say that this IS NOT a gaming rig... LoL However, it's capable of doing eveything I need a workstation for, and does it very effeciently. At the time of purchase, $250... I had HDD, monitor, DVD-RW, and CPU Fan. I couldn't beat that price. This thing is still churning along nicely! Great job Asus!
