Ask me to "prove it" (the info in my post) without further explanation and I'll soon be ignoring the person in question, especially if 2 minutes use of Google can provide the info. Provide another reasonable explanation, give me some evidence that research has been done (see "RTFM", Google, etc.), or otherwise show me where I'm wrong, and I'll happily & humbly acknowledge my error. More importantly, I'll have learned something new... always a good thing!

| I'm a newbe Howdy folks. Just about to build my first system and learn how to overclock. My Plan: 680i MB GF8800 GTS 2Gb Corsair Dominator PC8500 Core2 Duo e6600 2.4 Ghz Undecided on CPU Cooler WD Raptor 150* Ultra Aluminus* Antec Stealth 120mm Case fans* Ultra 600W X-Finity PSU* *=Already purchased Anyone who sees any red flags feel free to point them out. To the point of this thread: Aside from the acronyms and "leet speak", why are so many people who comment on computer forums nearly illiterate? Public schools must be to blame for people not knowing the difference between "then" and "than" or "there" and "their". Especially irritating example: "I like corsair better then patriot." Even though it is obvious what the guy is trying to say it is infuriatingly ignorant, and I'm not even an English major! At first I thought it was just kids who didn't know any better, but I am beginning to suspect that there exists a whole subset of techies who couldn't write a coherent sentence if their life depended on it... cheers, j |

| Welcome to ABXZone. I'd recommend you post your question regarding your future system in a new thread. I actually find the confusion between "its" and "it's" more irritating.

| Half of forum speak is about electronics which are full of acronyms anyway but I agree the main reason is you can type faster. Sorta like VTC (viewable text compression). Sandog
