When I installed 1005.01a I started to have problems with my USB. Went back to the 1004.03a and everything is fine now. May try later again.

Lightbulb

I have posted all the latest A7 series bios: http://www.cusl2c.com/vbulletin/show...?threadid=4542

Thanks to CJ and all moderators. This board is expanding with better stuffs. Ozzie can you move that A7 series bios to here? Thanks.

Also You might want to expand this forum with soon to be released nVidia nForce chipsets, right? Cause, they have officially released it, check it out here: http://www.xbitlabs.com/news/#991400109
*) The MSI MS-6367
- MicroATX form-factor;
- Socket A;
- IGP nForce 420 North Bridge;
- 200MHz/266MHz system bus;
- 3 DDR DIMM slots for up to 1.5GB (when using 2 DDR, with 128-bit TwinBank Architecture; the bandwidth accommodates 4.2GB/s, which is twice faster than regular DDR platform. And when using 1 or 3 DDR modules, the memory bus makes 64bit);
- 3 PCI slots, 1 AGP 4x slot, 1 CNR slot;
- Integrated GeForce2 core;
- ATA/100, integrated AC’97 sound (MCP South Bridge without Dolby Digital support);
- To connect the IGP and MCP there is a high-speed bus with 800MB/sec bandwidth (HyperTransport protocols);
- Live BIOS and PC Alert III technologies.

......Well, as you can see, in case of 2 DDR SDRAM DIMM modules, nForce chipsets offer a unique feature for DDR chipsets: dual-channel memory access with the overall width equal to 128bit. In fact, it should have a positive effect not only on the performance of the integrated graphics core but also on the overall system performance...

*) The Gigabyte GA-7NTM....here's the deal on that one:
This is one of the most interesting Socket A products based on NVIDIA Crush 12 chipset with the integrated GeForce2 MX graphics core. It will have 3 DDR DIMM slots, 1 AGP and 3 PCI slots, 4 USB ports and AC97 sound.

Talking

Hey I did a clean install on A7V133 with 1.2GHz AXIA (200) under W2K & WinME, here's the benchmark:

W2K- 9x158
----------------
CPU: 3961 ALU ; 1910 FPU
CPU MultiMedia: 7719 MMX ; 8825 3DNow
Memory: 635 ALU ; 717 FPU

WinME - 9x162
-------------------
CPU: 4015 ALU ; 1945 FPU
CPU MultiMEdia: 7810 MMX ; 9825 3DNow
Memory: 641 ALU ; 726 FPU

Under W2K I can go at the highest at 9.5x160 = 1520. How nice 1200@1520, an increase of 27%. It can go farther at 162, with better cooling. Will post bench later on. So, I think W2K is behaving better under overclocked system!!! This A7V133 is also SWEET, just like Iwill. And finally Abit turns SOUR

STOP PRESS - Has not been announced by Asus yet, but already on their server:

This is official release of Bios 1005a for A7V133 dated 6 June 2001, fresh from Asus Taiwan. Just released today and has not been announced. It is different than bios 1005 (without a) released a while ago on 31 May 2001.

Grab it here: ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/so...3/avu1005a.zip

Also the latest English Manual for A7V133/A7V133-C just released on May 2001 v1.05 Mar/2000, grab it here:
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/so...a7v133-105.pdf

This replaces the older manual version 1.02 released on December 2000.

For all Bioses & manual for A7V133: ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/socka/kt133a/a7v133/

Thumbs up

MR

I have also overclocked an AXIA 1G @ 1.4G (10.5x133) and while working fine with W2K (no game tested), it won't even boot W98.

I was expecting the opposite considering the internal of the two OSs.

Of course @ 1.33G it's 100% stable on both OSs

This is one of those times where it is important to know if you are using w98 or w98se. When I used W98 on an Asus P3b-f, my PIII-500 Katmai was burning 40F hotter than with w2k! Tried a friends w98se and the temps were like w2k. I was told that w98 burns the cpu at full-cycle.
