| Nope, I haven't tried that. These Athlon MP CPUs are my very first AMD CPUs ever... I wanted the real and approved thing rather than saving a few $$$.

| Almost four years have passed and the system is still operational - albeit slightly upgraded and that process is still in progress. The PSU was replaced with a 400 W Seasonic Super Tornado. The 120 mm built-in Sunon fan died on me a while back and after running fanless for a while, I decided (in the heat of the summer) to replace with a 120 mm PAPST 4412 NGL. The computer housing is still the same cool blue Chieftec tower, though. The CPU's are also still the same, but I have two modded Athlon XP-M 2500+ 35 W CPU's just waiting for their chance. That's actually an old project, but I'm taking my sweet time, hehe. I haven't used the system much for anything, but multimedia and communications center (with the latter being over remote desktop). The heatsinks and fans have been replaced by a pair of Thermalright SLK-900's with 80 mm PAPST 8412NGL fans. The memory has been bumped up with the addition of a stick of 1 GB Kingstion PC2700 (running at PC2100) Registered ECC CL2.5 DDR SDRAM. I'm thinking that with the current prices on RAM, going for the full 3.5 GB might not be unrealistic (although completely unnecessary, but who cares about needs The graphics card was replaced by a Sapphire AIW Radeon 9000 Pro. All the SCSI stuff has been yanked and the 3Com NIC too. It now sports a D-Link DGE-550T Gbit NIC. The new card, which was bought 6/6/6 is a beast, though, and will only run in a 32-bit PCI slot despite it being a 64-bit PCI card. I'm still corresponding with D-Link on what to do about that. The storage upgrade turned out to favour Western Digital after all. Two 74 GB WD Raptors sit comfortably on an Adaptec SATA RAID Card 1210SA. Instead of the SCSI optical drives, the system now features a Plextor PlexWriter 716A. I guess not much is left of that original system, hehe, but it's sometimes pretty funny to look back at what became of your old power houses.
