Question ECS L7VMM2 and AMD AthlonXP 2400+ question

Hi,

I have a friend who accidentally dropped his pc (yes i know) but now he's CPU is screwed and need to buy a new one. He's got a ECS L7MM2 motherboard (sorry no URLs for some reason) that has a VIA chipset which according to the website supports:
Quote:
Socket A board that supports AMDŽ K7 processor up to 266/200MHz FSB
* 462 pin Socket A supports the AMDŽ K7 processors
* Full series of Athlon XP / Athlon / Duron processors
If he buys a Athlon XP 2400+ would it still work on his motherboard? I'm not an AMD person (strictly intel) and he doesnt like posting on newsgroups/forums because he doesnt speak tech...

thanks!
