|  I was hoping that someone here could give me an answer that my owners manual can't seem to provide on a couple of issues. 1) is the BIOS flashing. I can save the current BIOS (A7V-133.1001C) But I can't seem to load the latest Bios update (1004.zip). This latest BIOS comes as a WINZip file. The instructions in the owners manual don't mention whether or not your suppose extract it to Floppy that the AFLASH.EXE resides or are you suppose to copy the 1004.zip as is to the Floppy. Doesn't matter I've tried it all. The stinkin' thing won't take. I get everything from .ERR messages to (flash build date is earlier than the current). Now is this the way I'm suppose to save and load the Flash. ex: (A:\A7V-133.1001C) That's the current BIOS. And then for the new should it be (A:\A7V-133.1004) PLEASE...let me know what the heck I'm doing wrong. 2) I have problem with one of my CD-roms not showing up on the first boot up of the day. In order for it to show up in my device manager it requires a full second boot up, then it sees it. This is how I have my setup (1 UDMA 20gig HDD, 1 DVD-rom and 1 HP-CDWR) each are on their own IDE controller and are all jumpered as Master. Is it BIOS issue or something I can fix with a little help. My setup is pretty basic, I'm not using the RAID feature. CPU is a 1gig T-Bird 256 mgs of RAM PS 300watts NVidia GforceMX AGP Display 20gig UDMA66 HDD OS Win98se mobo ASUS A7V133 DVD ROM HP-CDWR Floppy 10/100 NIC PCI 3com int Gaming modem PCI 128 Sound Blaster PCI If you have any settings or BIOS settings you could suggest please feel free. Now mind you I am doing the Flash according to how the book says to do it or at least I think. |
