Need Help Urgent

hello, the problem is my 1600+ AMD XP runs at @ 1400mhz is only showing up as 1025mhz. I'm running a Gigabyte 7N400S(-L) nForce 2 chipset, theres no option to change the multiply in the bios i cant find it, i updated bios i think to the latest 1 using @bios and it hasnt made a difference. Also maybe the techcian made a mistake and put a 1gig cpu instead of my 1600 amd xp, really need your help........

www.cpu-z.com .... download cpu-z from here .... and see what your processor gets identified as ......

also, you could have manually set the memory speed wrongly .... check that too ....

I may be wrong, but this is my thought. Your Athlon 1600+ has an unlocked multiplier, does it not? I'm not familiar with the Gigabyte bios, but there should be a "System Performance" setting under Advanced Chipset Features that frees the CPU Frequency setting to allow you to change the multiplier. The reading you're getting from cpu-z is based on the present setup of the CPU, which at present reflects what a MP processor is. It doesn't mean you actually have one.

garnet bro .... he said he had an athlon xp 1600+ previously .....so I would bet on the chip being mistakenly changed .....

I had asked him to check his multiplier settings, he said he did not have them in the bios .....
