| Question about LBA in BIOS I will be installing a 160 GB PATA hard drive and would like to know what LBA setting to use in my ASUS A7V600 motherboard. I have these choices: LBA, Large, Normal, Match Partition Table, and Manual. The manual says when enabled, the 28-bit addressing of the hard drive is used without regard for cylinders, heads, or sectors. Note that LBA mode is necessary for drives with more than 504 MB storage capacity. Now, while the manual states 28-bit, the ASUS website states all models made from January 2003 support 48-bit hard drives. My motherboard would fit into that category. I will be using one hard drive and not setting up multiple partitions. Motherboard is revision 1.00 and Bios version is 1005. Your help will be greatly appreciated. |
